Safety Inspector / Auditor - Construction

SDS - Safety Design Strategies – Vaughan, ON

Reports to – President

Overview

We are currently accepting resumes for the position of Safety Inspector / Auditor. The chosen candidate must have excellent communication, client relation and computer skills. 

Safety Inspector - Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the OHS Act and Regulations
  • Minimum CHSO designation
  • Minimum 5-years experience in this position or similar
  • Excellent safety inspection, hazard awareness, report writing and communication skills
  • Experience with construction safety training - train the trainer
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills
  • Proficient with computer and mobile applications
  • Be able to work within a team environment as well as work without supervision
  • Self-starter that exhibits a high level of initiative and resourcefulness
  • Ability to alter schedule, direction, and/or tasks for the benefit of the project, client or company with a professional and pleasant attitude
  • Must be familiar with down town Toronto and GTA
  • Drivers abstract required for use of company vehicle

Safety Training Instructor

SDS - Safety Design Strategies – Vaughan, ON
Reports to: President

Overview

We are currently seeking resumes from qualified candidates with a background in Construction Safety Training, who are looking for a challenging and rewarding position within our organization as a “Safety Training Instructor.” The chosen candidate must have excellent communication skills, client relation and computer skills with the willingness to manage all training programs; updating the programs based on any new MOL requirements, or updates to the OH&S Regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the OHS Act and Regulations
  • Training experience with:  Working at Heights – Fundamentals of Fall Protection; WHMIS; Aerial Equipment; Confined Space etc. (must maintain valid and up-to-date certification at all times). Certified First Aid/CPR /AED trainer is an asset
  • Minimum 5-years experience in this position or similar
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills
  • Proficient with computer and mobile applications
  • Be able to work within a team environment as well as work without supervision
  • Self-starter that exhibits a high level of initiative and resourcefulness

  • * SDS will provide train the trainer on the SDS Working at Heights - Fundamentals of Fall Protection program to the successful candidate in order to meet the requirements of the Working at Heights standard.

Construction Health & Safety Specialist

Overview 

Construction Health & Safety Officer/Supervisor for large construction site; oversee all trades/subcontractors to ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and legislation; develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures and all related administrative controls; conduct job hazard analysis for all job tasks and ensure development and implementation of safe work practices and procedures for each; ensure use of required personal protective equipment; ensure implementation of emergency evacuation and rescue plans; elimination of unsafe work practices; develop site specific safety plans and procedures; issue safe work permits; conduct site inspections and complete inspection reports; assess and ensure completion of all required safety training; arrange and/or conduct onsite safety orientations, training and safety talks; conduct accident and incident investigations and report completion; early return to work and modified work plans, W.S.I.B reporting and administer proper procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum - CHSO, CRSP, Knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Construction Regulations, five (5) years related work experience.

Canadian Red Cross First Aid Instructor

Overview 

We are currently accepting resumes for the position of Canadian Red Cross First Aid Instructor. This position is considered a part-time, by demand instructor.

Duties & Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will instruct and conduct text examinations for the following Canadian Red Cross courses:  Standard First Aid & CPR; Emergency First Aid & CPR; and CPR/AED.
  • Must have successfully completed, and kept current, Canadian Red Cross Instructor certification for each specific course instruction. 
  • Should have the ability to understand the delivery of curriculum to meet the learning outcomes of the course, and 2-years instructional experience would be an asset
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills and an engaging personality are required.
